Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: New York, NY - 225 Liberty Street

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year for the remote pay range.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable distributed backend systems for search, retrieval, ranking, recommendation, and personalization.
• Develop and manage Vertex AI Pipelines for model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Build data pipelines for feature generation, model training, analytics, vector generation, storage, and retrieval.
• Implement low-latency model serving with KServe and FastAPI, and maintain Python-based services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build observability, monitoring, dashboards, and documentation for models, pipelines, APIs, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with product, data science, platform, project management, software engineering, and frontend teams to deliver search and feed experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience building scalable backend systems and services, plus 5+ years of software development with object-oriented languages.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, and TypeScript, with experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka, Apache Beam, Apache Airflow, vector databases such as Milvus or Pinecone, and ML pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Kibana, APM, Jupyter Notebook, and Apache Spark.
• Practical understanding of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, ranking, retrieval, and personalization, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
