Scientific Fellow, Agentic AI (AI Co-Scientist Lead) (Agentic AI)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid with 3 days per week onsite, or onsite five days per week

What you will do

• Lead the agentic AI co-scientist initiative across scientific, computational, and technical functions.
• Define the strategy, architecture, roadmap, agent roles, scientific system skills, and orchestration patterns.
• Lead evaluation of internal, commercial, partnership, open-source, and externally available AI capabilities.
• Establish validation, benchmarking, acceptance, governance, provenance, reproducibility, and uncertainty standards.
• Identify high-value drug discovery use cases and guide capabilities from prototype through deployment and adoption.
• Shape data, platform, infrastructure, knowledge management, model integration, and scalable compute requirements.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, AI, machine learning, computational biology, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, engineering, applied mathematics, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Senior scientific and technical leadership experience in drug discovery, life sciences, AI/ML, computational science, or a closely related field.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, agentic systems, scientific foundation models, retrieval, tool use, planning, and AI evaluation.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through delivery, adoption, and measurable impact.
• Strong understanding of scientific research workflows, data strategy, responsible AI, reproducibility, transparency, cybersecurity, privacy, and human oversight.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, align teams without direct authority, assess external technologies, and make evidence-based build, buy, partner, adapt, or integrate decisions.
