Software Engineer, Video Streaming (C++)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $160,000–$240,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement efficient video streaming pipelines for high-priority real-time data.
• Build an offline streaming simulation and emulation framework to iterate on algorithms and predict online performance.
• Test streaming systems in real-world environments, gather feedback, and drive technical improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect on-road network metrics.
• Develop reliable communication systems and cloud platform components connecting autonomous vehicles with remote operators.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Go.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, socket programming, congestion control, and related networking concepts.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Network simulation experience, such as Network Simulator 3.
• Experience collecting real-road LTE network metrics.
• Video streaming framework experience, such as WebRTC.
• Understanding of video codecs including VP8, VP9, H.264, and H.265.
• GPU programming experience.
