Robotics Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and integrate robotics software in C++ and Python with a focus on real-time performance and reliability.
• Develop sensor data pipelines and integrate cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, proprioceptive sensors, custom hardware, and embedded systems.
• Implement perception, localization, mapping, SLAM, sensor fusion, motion planning, control, trajectory generation, and behavioral systems.
• Integrate ROS and ROS 2 frameworks and implement watchdogs, fault detection, safe stops, and other safety-critical patterns.
• Build simulation environments with Gazebo and Isaac Sim, conduct field tests, collect data, and analyze results.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, ML, product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders; document systems and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills and production experience with ROS or ROS 2.
• Experience with perception, localization, motion planning, or control, plus sensor fusion and Kalman or particle filters.
• Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo; strong debugging skills in real-time and concurrent systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Robotics or a related field.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, or ML-based perception pipelines.
• Experience with safety-critical software standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
• Open-source contributions in robotics.
