MTS I, Software Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Hybrid in Irvine, California; valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Travel of up to 5% to domestic or international locations may be required.

Salary: $33.17–$55.29 per hour, plus potential discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What you will do

• Design and develop software solutions running on Linux or Android.
• Own software features from concept through deployment.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering implementation guidelines.
• Diagnose and resolve issues, fix bugs, and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software implementation lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns while providing technical guidance and feedback.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving skills and solid knowledge of C/C++ programming, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Professional software development experience with Linux and familiarity with Agile methodology and Scrum.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, scalable architectures, socket programming, PUB/SUB, and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of TCP/UDP/IP, VLANs, basic switching and routing, hardware components, block diagrams, and schematics.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering; approximately 3 years of software engineering experience is preferred.
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, databases, REST APIs, or web development.
• Knowledge of modern C++ and other high-level programming languages.
