Senior Legal Counsel, Contracts (SaaS)

What you will do

• Build trusted relationships with Sales, Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and other stakeholders supporting customer and channel transactions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate SaaS, BaaS, software, professional services, channel, reseller, GSI, and NDA agreements.
• Provide practical legal guidance on commercial, regulatory, privacy, data protection, compliance, and approval requirements.
• Develop risk-based solutions for complex contractual issues and determine when escalation or alternative approaches are required.
• Anticipate contractual, legal, and operational issues to reduce disputes and delays.
• Improve contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and legal processes while delivering training on contracting principles and legal risks.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 10–15+ years of post-qualification experience, including significant in-house experience.
• Strong commercial contracts experience, preferably in software, SaaS, cloud technology, or a broader technology company.
• Excellent drafting, contract review, negotiation, and stakeholder advisory skills.
• Extensive experience negotiating complex customer and partner agreements and supporting sales organizations.
• Experience advising on privacy and data protection issues in commercial technology transactions, including data processing, transfer, storage, and protection.

• Strong commercial judgment and proportionate risk assessment skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of matters and conflicting priorities.
• Confidence making risk-based decisions where no clear precedent or playbook exists.
