OHS Specialist - Nights (Exp. in Procedures and OSHA Is Required)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas; valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

hirify.global produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and is expanding a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Kansas.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain occupational health and safety programs, policies, procedures, records, permits, and reports.
• Conduct risk assessments, process hazard analyses, management-of-change activities, workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Identify workplace hazards and coordinate corrective and preventive actions through completion.
• Support emergency response activities, drills, preparedness initiatives, and incident response outside normal business hours when needed.
• Develop and deliver safety training, onboarding, orientations, coaching, and guidance for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Collaborate with operational teams, leaders, contractors, consultants, vendors, and regulatory agencies to improve safety performance and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least 2 years of occupational health and safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, commissioning, or another regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, ACGIH, and NIOSH standards.
• Experience with workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, safety training, contractor safety, and exposure monitoring.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.
• U.S. work authorization without restriction is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• ASP or CSP certification, OSHA 30-Hour, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR, ISO 45001, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, or respiratory protection certifications.
• Experience with commissioning, startup, construction, lithium-ion battery manufacturing, chemical handling, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, or high-hazard operations.
• Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems, regulatory inspections, EHS software, lean manufacturing, or safety committees.
