Software Test Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Uppsala, Sweden; hybrid working options are available.

What you will do

• Perform release testing and verify end-to-end functionality against agreed quality criteria.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases, with emphasis on integration across components and services.
• Build, maintain, and improve test automation frameworks and automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
• Help development teams adopt effective unit and integration testing strategies.
• Identify risks, defects, dependencies, and quality gaps early, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Improve test frameworks and documentation while supporting troubleshooting, debugging, and incident analysis.

Requirements

• Professional experience in software testing, especially integration testing and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Python and/or Ruby for test automation.
• Familiarity with Pytest, Squish, or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and tools including GitLab, Jira, or Artifactory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify risks and dependencies early.
• Conversational Swedish and fluent English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience testing C++ software and understanding C++ code.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, compilers, or toolchains.
• Experience with CMake build systems.
