Semiconductor Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build software tooling for semiconductor design, verification, post-silicon validation, and characterization workflows.
• Develop firmware, drivers, BSPs, and other low-level software interacting directly with silicon.
• Build scalable EDA execution infrastructure across compute farms, cloud platforms, grid systems, and HPC environments.
• Create high-throughput test orchestration, programmable stimulus generation, result aggregation, debug tooling, and diagnostic infrastructure.
• Develop data pipelines for design, verification, and characterization data to support analytics and ML.
• Partner with hardware engineers, lead cross-domain architecture and code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant semiconductor experience; the position listing also specifies 8+ years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with EDA, verification, or post-silicon validation workflows.
• Experience with low-level hardware-software interaction, large-scale compute infrastructure, scripting, automation, and data pipelines.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SystemVerilog or other HDLs.
• Familiarity with UVM-based verification workflows.
• Experience with cloud-based EDA workflows.
• Hands-on experience applying ML to silicon design.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
