Controls & Automation Engineer (Manufacturing Automation): Maintaining and troubleshooting controls systems for tire manufacturing equipment while supporting machine retrofits, technology upgrades, and continuous improvement with an accent on Siemens and Rockwell PLCs, equipment reliability, and machine safety. Global tire manufacturer developing and producing tire products and mobility solutions through manufacturing facilities and innovation centers worldwide.

What you will do

  • Maintain and troubleshoot controls and automation systems to resolve equipment issues, minimize breakdowns, and support production targets.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities using 8D, A3, root-cause analysis, and similar methodologies.
  • Support machine retrofits, technology upgrades, equipment obsolescence management, and continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and supervise external suppliers during automation projects, technical installations, equipment upgrades, and obsolescence activities.
  • Verify compliance of automation and technical installations with Engineering, EHS, IT, machine safety, and relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Facility, Electrical, Production, Procurement, Global Engineering, Global IT, and EHS teams to deliver projects and maintain reliable manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Approximately five years of experience in tire manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and/or Rockwell systems, including hardware programming.
  • Experience troubleshooting machines in structured manufacturing environments and applying 8D, A3, RCA, PMO, or similar methods.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, circuit drawings, equipment safety standards, CTIs, and industrial reliability requirements.
  • English at minimum B2 level is required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Moeller systems.
  • French language skills.
  • Experience working with external suppliers in a matrix and cross-functional organization.
