Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial (Retail)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $141,500–$233,500 annual

What you will do

• Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on commercial contracts covering technology, SaaS, shop-in-shop, merchandise, distribution, supply chain, partnerships, payments, digital media, and marketing.
• Advise business clients on technology and product development, licenses, vendor and co-branded initiatives, data-sharing agreements, policy changes, regulatory compliance, and innovation strategy.
• Provide practical legal advice on strategic deals and issues arising across commercial relationships.
• Lead high-impact legal projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop processes and templates that improve efficiency.
• Monitor relevant regulatory and compliance developments and provide proactive advice and training.

Requirements

• J.D. and a license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7–10 years of legal experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Experience handling contracts, marketing, technology and business transactions, intellectual property, or regulatory issues related to product distribution or retail.
• Excellent research, analytical, contract drafting, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience using generative AI and AI-enabled workflow platforms to improve efficiency and legal service delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize changing business needs, meet deadlines, and build effective relationships with colleagues and clients.

Nice to have

• Retail or customer-facing business experience.
• Experience or interest in marketing and advertising, loyalty programs, payments, real estate leasing, or restaurant and food-service operations.
