Senior Engineer, Software Test

Location: Shugart, Singapore; occasional ad-hoc support at the Woodlands site. Travel: None.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based scripts in a Linux environment for manufacturing operations and product quality.
• Improve test processes by reducing test time and optimizing operational workflows.
• Collaborate with test, process, and manufacturing engineers across multiple hirify.global locations.
• Set up and maintain laboratory testers, including tester software and operating system updates.
• Refactor, upgrade, and validate legacy code to improve maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop, maintain, and support the HDD Auto Disposition system for failed-drive analysis and rework disposition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL.
• Experience with Linux OS, custom kernel builds, Kickstart installations, and RPM/Yum package management.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• 1–3 years of hands-on software and firmware development experience preferred; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Curiosity about HDD technologies, manufacturing processes, and storage system fundamentals, with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools.
