Electrical Engineer (Facilities)

Location: Springtown, Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. On-site facilities engineering role, Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00, 39 hours per week. No travel required.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of low-voltage and high-voltage networks for site capacity and supply-risk needs.
• Plan future electrical capacity and identify risks to supply continuity.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures for HV and LV networks to improve reliability and asset lifespan.
• Implement safe systems of work for the site HV network and ensure compliance with electrical legislation and EHS procedures.
• Plan electrical shutdowns for site and plant maintenance and coordinate related work with departments and contractors.
• Manage project risks, technical documentation, electrical drawings, contractor permitting, and EHS compliance.

Requirements

• Hons degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Understanding of EHS requirements and the ability to establish safe systems of work.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide technical assurance for large projects.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and senior and executive management.
• Applications from new college graduates are considered; experience with HV/LV supply, distribution, and maintenance is advantageous.
• Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Senior Authorized Person or Authorising Engineer qualification for HV switching.
• Contractor coordination or project management experience.
• Time-served electrician experience with high-voltage networks and maintenance.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, HV/LV switchgear, control panels, variable-speed drives, building management or automation systems, or energy metering.
