Electrical Engineer (Facilities)

Location: Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland; Springtown site, United Kingdom. Onsite, Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00, 39 hours per week. No travel.

What you will do

• Assist with the design and development of LV and HV networks, site electrical capacity planning, and supply-continuity risk identification.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures for HV and LV assets to improve reliability and extend asset life.
• Develop and implement safe systems of work for the site HV network and ensure compliance with electrical legislation, SOPs, and EHS procedures.
• Scope and coordinate HV/LV electrical shutdowns for site and plant maintenance, working with internal departments and contractors.
• Identify, monitor, and respond to project risks while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractor permitting.
• Maintain electrical plant documentation and drawing accuracy, and review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications.

Requirements

• Hons Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Experience with HV/LV supply and distribution networks, or the capability to develop this experience as a new college graduate.
• Understanding of EHS requirements and the ability to instill safe systems of work.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide technical assurance for large projects.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, adapt to changing situations and priorities, and present justifications to senior and executive management.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing and managing reliable HV/LV maintenance schedules.
• Experience implementing and managing capital projects.
• Senior Authorized Person (SAP) or Authorising Engineer (AE) qualification for HV switching.
• Contractor coordination or project management experience.
• Time-served electrician experience with HV networks and maintenance.
• Experience supporting a high-volume manufacturing facility.
• Experience with HV/LV switchgear, electrical control panels, variable speed drives, building management or automation systems, and energy metering systems.
