Senior Epitaxy Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Caswell site, Towcester, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom; on-site day shift from 08:00 to 16:00

What you will do

• Plan daily equipment maintenance in coordination with manufacturing and process engineering teams.
• Support MOVPE and associated epitaxy equipment, fault finding, repairs, upgrades, installations, commissioning, and process release.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment utilization and uptime.
• Manage process gases, chemicals, spare parts, chemical fills, waste, and cleanroom logistics.
• Provide technical direction to shift technicians and supervise external contractors, field service engineers, suppliers, and specialist service providers.
• Support shutdown activities, equipment relocations, cleanroom reorganization, emergency response, and site safety procedures.

Requirements

• HNC, degree, or equivalent apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• At least five years of experience in a wafer fabrication or epitaxy engineering environment.
• Electrical engineering experience with low- and high-voltage systems, plus the ability to read electrical wiring and mechanical schematics.
• Strong semiconductor manufacturing experience, including MOVPE and/or MOCVD, vacuum systems, Hi-Vac principles, pumps, leak checking, pneumatic systems, and PLCs.
• Experience with hazardous process gases and competent use of Microsoft Office.
• Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom. The role requires cleanroom clothing, SCBA use, and clean-shaven status for respirator compatibility.

Nice to have

• BS7671 18th Edition or comparable electrical qualifications.
• Experience with Aixtron MOVPE reactors or other CVD equipment.
• Semiconductor process gas experience, including mass flow controllers.
• Experience with dry abatement systems.
