Principal Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States

Annual base pay: $225,600–$338,400, with potential incentive compensation, bonuses, restricted stock units, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead requirements analysis and define designs for new tools and enhancements to existing systems.
• Architect and lead scalable, secure backend and frontend systems for Engineering and Operations teams.
• Set technical direction, establish design methodologies, and apply coding standards and design patterns.
• Build automated testing strategies and quality gates for continuous integration and deployment.
• Drive security, performance, observability, and monitoring standards across software components.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent background, plus 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in cloud-native intelligent analytics and data warehouse solutions.
• Experience with Go, Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience designing and performance-tuning SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React and familiarity with machine learning models and AI techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Nice to have

• Implementation experience with machine learning models and AI techniques for improved decision-making.
• Experience with PromQL, Tableau, or Grafana.
