Ab Initio Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Location: Hybrid, based at hirify.global corporate offices in McLean, Virginia, or Dayton, Ohio, United States. Onboarding is expected to begin in September 2026.

Salary: $130,000–$140,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and document high-level data process architectures for migrating legacy Army systems to the Ab Initio platform.
• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end ETL workflows, data pipelines, transformation logic, and system integrations.
• Gather system and data requirements with business analysts, technical teams, stakeholders, and clients, and prepare system and functional requirements documents.
• Optimize legacy data workflows, processing performance, scalability, and job scheduling using Ab Initio, Oracle SQL, and related technologies.
• Create design specifications, perform functional and unit testing, document results, and participate in technical peer reviews.
• Provide rotational on-call support and maintain stable, secure, and compliant ETL operations in a DoD environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of enterprise data integration experience, including at least 5 years focused on Ab Initio.
• At least 7 years of experience in data integration, architecture, and ETL development.
• Advanced experience with Ab Initio GDE, Co>Operating System, EME, and complex ETL solution development.
• Expertise with Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL, Control-M, data modeling, integration strategies, and workflow optimization.
• Experience modernizing federal government systems or large-scale enterprise data platforms, including knowledge of Federal regulations and security standards.
• Must be eligible for a security clearance; an active Secret clearance is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-based Ab Initio platforms and AWS, Azure, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with Conduct> orchestration components and Agile development.
• Ab Initio certifications.
