Principal Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Worldwide; remote work or work from one of the offices. Relocation support is available to hubs in Cyprus, Georgia, Serbia, or Spain, including assistance for the employee and their family.

What you will do

• Define and maintain company-wide architectural principles and shared technical standards.
• Align architectural and technical decisions across teams and domains.
• Identify and reduce architectural and organizational complexity.
• Lead RFCs, architecture reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Influence technical decisions and turn technical vision into sustainable solutions.
• Participate in major incident analysis and systemic problem solving.

Requirements

• Experience working in a large engineering organization with 300+ engineers.
• Hands-on experience with complex distributed systems.
• Demonstrated impact on architectural decisions beyond an individual team.
• Experience addressing architectural mistakes, refactoring systems, and handling incidents.
• Strong system-level thinking, engineering judgment, and understanding of technical trade-offs.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work through disagreement and influence without formal authority.
