Consultant MRI Mechanical Engineer (F/M/X)

What you will do

• Support client R&D projects involving MRI systems and medical imaging technology.
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, subsystems, and custom MRI equipment.
• Translate system and customer requirements into mechanical concepts, calculations, detailed designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, drawings, prototypes, test setups, and verification documentation.
• Perform mechanical integration, testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, commissioning, and technical handover.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electronics, RF, software, and systems engineering interfaces while identifying and mitigating technical risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional experience working with MRI systems or MRI-related technology is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical engineering, development, integration, or testing within MRI equipment or systems.
• Strong experience in mechanical design and product development, including mechanical calculations, tolerancing, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of 3D CAD and mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience developing, prototyping, and testing mechanical components and assemblies, with a strong understanding of mechanical interfaces in complex technical systems.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary R&D environments and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and technical problems.
• Self-propelling and able to work independently, take ownership, define next steps, and drive technical topics without detailed instructions.
• Comfort working across different clients, teams, and projects in a consultancy environment, with strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented skills.
• Fluent in English.
