Consultant MRI Mechanical Engineer (F/M/X)

What you will do

• Support R&D projects for MRI systems and medical imaging technology across different clients.
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems for MRI equipment.
• Translate system and customer requirements into mechanical requirements, concepts, calculations, and detailed designs.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Develop prototypes and test setups, perform mechanical integration and testing, and support commissioning and handover.
• Investigate mechanical issues, perform root-cause analysis, manage technical risks, and implement corrective solutions across multidisciplinary interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional experience with MRI systems or MRI-related technology is required.
• Strong experience in mechanical design, product development, prototyping, testing, calculations, tolerancing, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of 3D CAD and mechanical engineering principles, with experience working on mechanical interfaces within complex systems.
• Experience in multidisciplinary R&D environments and the ability to work independently, define next steps, and take ownership of technical topics.
• Fluent English is required. Dutch is a plus.
