AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid office-based in Dallas, TX; Gilbert, AZ; Centennial, CO; or Westminster, CO, with remote work only as approved. Occasional support for field teams and job sites may be required; travel is minimal. Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $1–$1 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy lightweight AI-powered tools and applications that improve operational efficiency across construction and business functions.
• Partner with field teams, operations, IT, data, and business stakeholders to identify manual or repetitive processes and translate them into AI solutions.
• Prototype AI workflows using LLM APIs, automation platforms, and custom scripts, including chatbots, internal assistants, and workflow automations.
• Integrate AI tools with internal and third-party systems through APIs and create dashboards, interfaces, or simple applications for non-technical users.
• Monitor and improve accuracy, reliability, usability, and adoption while documenting workflows and solutions.
• Implement guardrails and validation processes and contribute to the evolution from standalone tools toward integrated AI systems and strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of exposure to data-related work, including analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data-entry systems, or support for data-driven teams.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with AI tools, platforms, or APIs through professional or personal projects.
• Working experience with Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and/or Google Gemini.
• Ability to work in a hybrid U.S. office environment and provide occasional support to field teams and job sites.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not currently offered.

Nice to have

• Portfolio demonstrating AI projects such as workflows, applications, chatbots, or prompt systems.
• Strong prompt engineering skills and experience with Claude API, OpenAI API, or similar LLM APIs.
• Experience with Make, n8n, Zapier, or Microsoft Power Automate.
• Familiarity with no-code and low-code AI tools, including judgment about when to use custom code.
