Senior Backend / Infrastructure Engineer (Python/AWS)

Location: New York City, hybrid; four days onsite, or three days onsite for employees located more than one hour away.

Salary: $230,000–$300,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and evolve distributed systems to support a tenfold increase in session volume.
• Improve throughput, fault tolerance, and resilience across the core processing pipeline.
• Build scalable data pipelines and processing infrastructure.
• Strengthen observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Reduce operational bottlenecks and technical debt.
• Collaborate with AI and product teams to support new capabilities at scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend or infrastructure development.
• Expertise in Python and AWS infrastructure.
• Experience building and scaling data-intensive applications and pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and database internals.
• Experience improving system reliability and performance in production.
• Background scaling high-throughput or real-time processing systems.
