Senior Financial Accountant (Payments)

What you will do

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, accruals, daily transactions, and bank statement reconciliations in SAP.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee monthly transactional accounting in line with corporate policies.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, IFRS 16 and fixed-asset entries, depreciation calculations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare GST, FBT, and corporate tax return declarations and assist with financial statements and regulatory reporting.
• Support external audits, month-end and year-end close activities, and auditor queries.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, data accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar commercial or public practice role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, database management, and financial data analysis skills.
• Extensive SAP or large-scale ERP experience with daily operational proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AASB/IFRS standards, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Extensive experience preparing GST, FBT, and corporate tax returns.
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
