Senior AI Engineer

Location: New York City, hybrid; four days onsite, or three days onsite for employees located more than one hour away.

Salary: $230,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design and improve LLM-powered pipelines and agent architectures.
• Build evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure output quality and detect regressions.
• Optimize AI systems for latency, cost, determinism, reliability, and output quality at high daily volume.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation and tool-use strategies.
• Ship production-grade AI systems and integrate AI capabilities into the core platform with backend and product teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production at meaningful scale.
• Deep familiarity with prompt engineering, structured extraction, function and tool calling, RAG, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure for AI workloads.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience writing clean, maintainable production systems.
