Principal Accounting Process Analyst (Financial Services)

Location: Remote anywhere across the United States; employees within the designated geographic range may be required to work onsite based on business needs and manager discretion.

Salary: $89,895–$121,621 per year.

What you will do

• Provide subject-matter expertise and leadership across accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes.
• Guide the modeling and automation of complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify root causes, risks, reporting impacts, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead process redesign, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve scalability, data quality, reporting, and controls.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, and internal control activities through documentation and information validation.
• Advise Accounting, Investments, Operations, and Technology stakeholders on financial reporting, control, and operational impacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, operations, or systems-related roles.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and system-enabled workflows.
• Proficiency with Power Query, Power BI, and financial systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-partnership, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to lead complex analysis, resolve ambiguous issues, present recommendations, and drive outcomes across financial processes and reporting activities.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or a large corporate environment with complex, regulated financial processes.
• Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, or external reporting.
• Experience influencing financial system or process design and leading process improvement initiatives.
• Progress toward or interest in CPA, CMA, MBA, IIBA-CBAP, or IIBA-CCBA certification.
