Product-Minded Engineer (React Native)

Location: Fully remote within the U.S.; working hours aligned with Pacific or Mountain time

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year, based on location, experience, and skills

What you will do

• Develop new mobile features primarily in React Native for iOS and Android.
• Build and refine web experiences using modern React-based technologies.
• Maintain and evolve existing native Swift and Kotlin applications while incrementally modernizing them with React Native.
• Integrate native device capabilities, platform APIs, analytics, crash reporting, and media features.
• Debug real-device issues involving gestures, WebViews, video playback, navigation, performance, memory, and responsive layouts.
• Collaborate with product and design to turn user feedback and rough ideas into measurable product improvements.

Requirements

• Strong product-minded engineering skills and experience shipping polished consumer-facing experiences.
• Strong React Native, TypeScript, and React experience with production mobile applications for iOS and Android.
• Modern web development experience with React, Next.js, Redux Toolkit or RTK Query/SWR, and Tailwind CSS.
• Working knowledge of native iOS development with Swift and native Android development with Kotlin, including their respective build tools and application lifecycles.
• Experience integrating APIs, native device capabilities, analytics, crash reporting, and media-heavy interfaces.
• Ability to collaborate closely with product and design while maintaining high UX, accessibility, responsiveness, and visual-polish standards.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating native iOS and Android applications to React Native or building native modules and bridges.
• Background in consumer social, content discovery, feeds, recommendations, sharing, or creator/community products.
• Familiarity with Firebase, Segment, Branch, Sentry, Crashlytics, Airbrake, or similar observability tools.
• Experience with App Store and Play Store releases, CI/CD, and deployment tools such as Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, or Docker.
• Experience with React Native Testing Library, Jest, Cypress, XCTest, JUnit/Mockito/Espresso, or similar quality tooling.
