Senior iOS Engineer (Graphics)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, with a minimum of two days onsite per week at the downtown San Francisco office

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 base pay per year, plus bonuses and profit sharing

What you will do

• Solve difficult graphics problems with soft real-time performance targets.
• Build and improve a rich-content canvas supporting ink, images, PDFs, text, animation, and other content.
• Design, code, test, debug, and modernize graphics systems.
• Use GPU acceleration to maximize 2D graphics performance and identify risks in new technical approaches.
• Collaborate with engineers across platforms and with design and product teams.
• Review code, mentor engineers, communicate progress and risks, and implement functionality based on research papers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with iOS graphics programming, including Core Graphics or MetalKit.
• Experience using the GPU to solve 2D graphics problems.
• Experience with resolution-independent graphics primitives and related mathematical concepts.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Pragmatic approach to modern engineering patterns, including immutable data and functional programming.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bezier curves.
• Experience with CRDTs.
