Senior Software Developer III (AI)

Location: Remote, Medellin or Bogotá, Colombia

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate agentic AI systems, including LLM services, retrieval pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, execution runtimes, and human-in-the-loop capabilities.
• Build memory infrastructure, agent definition management APIs, tool registries, LLMOps pipelines, and automated evaluation systems.
• Own production architecture, delivery, operations, cost, quality, reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response for the AI platform.
• Create prototypes, architecture proposals, RFCs, and technical controls that support compliance frameworks such as ISO 42001 and AIUC-1.
• Influence platform architecture and roadmap decisions while collaborating with developers, architects, tech leads, Product/UX, Operations, Security, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor developers, lead proof-of-concept engineering, improve AI-assisted workflows, and contribute to CI/CD and SDLC improvements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building and operating production AI systems, including agent frameworks, memory systems, or tool-using AI orchestration.
• At least 8 years of professional software development experience with impact beyond a single team.
• Production AWS experience and Infrastructure as Code using CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native SaaS or multi-tenant platforms at scale.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, HTTP APIs, and code quality practices.
• Experience mentoring developers, influencing architecture, and communicating effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI guardrails, governance, safety mechanisms, and translating NIST AI RMF or similar frameworks into technical controls.
• Experience with third-party ML/LLMOps platforms, retrieval systems, RAG, embeddings, hybrid search, evaluation harnesses, drift detection, or regression alerting.
• Experience operating systems in regulated environments or familiarity with accounting, auditing, and financial workflows.
