Senior SDET (Java)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, or Southlake, Texas

Salary: USD $130,000–$155,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define risk-based quality strategies across UI, API, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Build scalable, maintainable UI and API automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and REST Assured.
• Validate API contracts, payloads, errors, dependencies, business rules, relational data, transactions, and end-to-end outcomes.
• Integrate automated tests with Git-based continuous delivery pipelines to provide fast, repeatable feedback.
• Partner with engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners as a hands-on quality engineering contributor for Scrum teams.
• Communicate quality risks and recommendations while improving automation coverage, platform stability, resilience, and release confidence.

Requirements

• Advanced Java, REST APIs, DevOps, and SQL capabilities.
• Experience creating reusable automation solutions using object-oriented and clean-code practices.
• Experience with QA strategy, API and UI automation, integration testing, regression testing, and release risk assessment.
• Experience integrating automated tests into Git-based continuous delivery pipelines.
• Working knowledge of load testing, P95 performance concepts, and tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Ability to explain complex quality risks, evidence, decisions, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Cloud testing experience with PCF, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience using generative AI for test design, code quality, automation maintenance, documentation, or defect analysis with human validation.
• Experience with parallel execution and cloud-based test infrastructure such as Sauce Labs.
• Knowledge of data modeling, test data management, MongoDB, or infrastructure-as-a-service concepts.
• Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, or similar tools.
