Video Data Annotation Team Lead (AI)

Location: Salt Lake City, United States; hybrid office-based role

What you will do

• Serve as the day-to-day point person for the Salt Lake City video annotation team and collaborate with the California office.
• Onboard and train annotators on tools, workflows, quality standards, escalation processes, and documentation.
• Coach reviewers on accuracy, productivity, and consistency while providing direct, actionable feedback.
• Review difficult or ambiguous traffic events, conduct quality checks, and identify recurring errors or training needs.
• Monitor workloads and queues, flag capacity or performance issues, and escalate operational problems and unclear guidelines.
• Review and annotate video footage, verify extracted information, and help test process and tooling improvements.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in data annotation, quality assurance, operations, trust and safety, content review, compliance operations, or another high-volume, detail-oriented environment.
• Prior leadership experience as a team lead, senior individual contributor, trainer, QA specialist, or informal mentor.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to make sound judgment calls in ambiguous situations.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and hold teammates accountable for quality and productivity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and work effectively in technology-driven workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with data labeling, AI/ML operations, video review, regulated workflows, or public safety.
• Startup experience and an interest in improving rapidly evolving processes.
