Senior Accountant (Solar Energy)

hirify.global provides full-service asset management for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar energy portfolios, including operations and maintenance, billing, customer support, asset performance management, and investor reporting.

What you will do

• Maintain general ledger accounting for multiple residential solar portfolios in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and support timely financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Account for residential solar revenue and receivables across lease, PPA, and loan products.
• Reconcile customer billing and collections data to the general ledger.
• Support systems and process improvements that increase close and reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with an accounting concentration.
• 3+ years of financial accounting or auditing experience; Big Four experience is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with US GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
• Understanding of residential solar asset accounting, including revenue recognition, fixed assets, and fund-level allocations.
• Ability to implement accounting processes for newly onboarded portfolios using historical financial information and contractual documentation.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Direct experience with residential solar portfolios covering lease, PPA, and loan products.
• Experience with commercial and utility-scale solar project accounting.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 805, and ASC 842.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, Ramp, partnership accounting, tax equity fund structures, or HLBV allocations.
