Lead - General Accounting

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia, United States; on-site at the client’s Virginia office

What you will do

• Act as the primary day-to-day accounting contact at the client location.
• Build working relationships with client finance stakeholders and understand their requirements, priorities, and accounting issues.
• Coordinate communication, action items, risks, dependencies, and deliverables between the client and offshore accounting teams.
• Provide hands-on support for complex journal entries, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Review offshore-prepared transactions and schedules, resolve discrepancies and variances, and support accounting analysis.
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, professional-services, or client-facing environment.
• Hands-on experience with complex journal entries, general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, variance analysis, and accounting research.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
