Senior Analyst (Payments Reconciliation)

Location: Remote work may be available from countries where Cash App operates; U.S. compensation is organized by market-based location zones.

Salary: $108,200–$162,200 (Zone D), $119,000–$178,400 (Zone C), $125,800–$188,600 (Zone B), or $135,200–$202,800 USD (Zone A) per year.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end reconciliation and reporting workstreams across card networks, acquirers, processors, banks, internal payment data, and ledgers.
• Design and deploy matching logic, break dashboards, exception queues, settlement summaries, standardized journals, and automated SQL reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, improve controls, and address revenue leakage, manual toil, and data-quality issues.
• Define domain metrics such as match rates, break aging, time-to-resolution, funding compliance, and reporting SLAs.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, and Data teams on pipelines, system changes, testing, and roadmap priorities.
• Support month-end close and internal and external audits, document controls, and mentor other analysts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level SQL and experience designing, developing, and documenting automated reporting across unfamiliar datasets.
• End-to-end ownership of reconciliation, settlement, or financial reporting workstreams and related metrics.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry concepts, money movement, and financial data controls.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines with data engineering teams; advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with reconciliation tools and banking portals.
• Excellent communication skills and a record of delivering automation and process improvements in high-accuracy environments.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, network settlement, clearing, and report file formats.
• Knowledge of ACH, wire, SWIFT, RTP/FedNow, and the wider payments ecosystem.
• Python or similar scripting experience, plus cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery and BI platforms such as Looker or Tableau.
• Experience with interchange and fee reconciliation, revenue-leakage detection, tax or regulatory reporting, audits, internal controls, or SOX-adjacent processes.
• Interest in payments products and financial markets.
