Contract Solutions Counsel (Legal Tech)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $157,600–$197,000 CAD per year in Toronto, plus equity for full-time roles and benefits.

What you will do

• Negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, including NDAs, confidentiality agreements, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters.
• Liaise directly with counterparties and meet agreed turnaround times.
• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for investment fund and asset manager clients.
• Maintain and update client playbooks to ensure consistency and quality in negotiations.
• Collaborate with and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals while reviewing their work.
• Identify opportunities to improve hirify.global's legal technology suite using AI-backed tools.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of post-law-school corporate or transactional experience.
• Independent experience negotiating pre-M&A contracts such as NDAs, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters.
• Experience with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms.
• Law degree and license to practice in the US or Canada.
• Strong commercial judgment, concise legal communication, and client relationship skills.
• Comfort working with legal technology, AI tools, and platforms such as HighQ.
