Senior Manager, AMI Grid Edge Analytics (AI)

Location: Westminster, California, US; hybrid work mode with required reporting to an SCE facility and residence in California. Up to 5% travel within the SCE service territory may be required. Relocation may apply.

Salary: $206,400–$309,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the AMI 2.0 analytics strategy, roadmap, governance, and portfolio of grid-edge use cases.
• Oversee the analytics lifecycle from data acquisition and quality management through model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Develop internal analytics capabilities and assess, integrate, and manage vendor-provided solutions.
• Lead analytics platform and build-versus-buy decisions, balancing business value, deployment speed, lifecycle cost, and long-term architecture.
• Coordinate implementation and operational adoption with IT, Grid Operations, Meter Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Regulatory, Finance, and external vendors.
• Establish performance metrics, track benefits realization, evaluate emerging AI and grid-edge technologies, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience supervising direct reports and/or managing projects.
• Experience with artificial intelligence applications.
• Experience leading analytics, data science, or engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale, production-grade solutions.
• Knowledge of data architecture, cloud platforms, APIs, streaming and event-driven data, integration patterns, cybersecurity, privacy, data governance, and auditability.
• Experience with AMI, utility analytics, grid modernization, data platforms, AI/ML, or IT/OT environments; 10+ years is preferred.
• Must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted; the hybrid role requires regular presence at an SCE facility.

Nice to have

• Experience with AMI analytics strategy, roadmap development, and governance for grid reliability, outage response, asset health, demand flexibility, customer insights, or grid modernization.
• Familiarity with DER/EV integration, load disaggregation, outage prediction, incipient fault detection, demand flexibility, and grid-edge telemetry.
• Experience integrating vendor analytics with in-house models, cloud data platforms, dashboards, and operational workflows.
