Location: Onsite in El Segundo, CA or Torrey Pines, CA, Monday–Friday during standard business hours; occasional evening or weekend work and travel may be required.
Annual base pay: $245,000–$270,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do
- Lead the global clinical finance, budgeting, outsourcing, and operating-model strategy.
- Oversee portfolio-level financial planning, long-range forecasting, scenario analysis, accruals, variance management, controls, and executive reporting.
- Establish outsourcing, sourcing, contracting, and supplier-governance strategies across CROs, investigative sites, laboratories, clinical technology, RTSM/IRT, and clinical trial materials.
- Set governance for MSAs, Work Orders/SOWs, Change Orders, approval thresholds, negotiations, and escalation of material financial or contractual risks.
- Own improvements to clinical financial, contracting, payment, automation, data-governance, and reporting capabilities, including Veeva.
- Build and lead a high-performing global function through organizational design, hiring, development, performance management, and succession planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, finance, healthcare administration, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related clinical-development business operations.
- 7+ years leading global clinical outsourcing, supplier management, budgeting, forecasting, or contracting capabilities, including 5+ years of people leadership.
- Experience supporting global Phase I–III development programs and advising senior leaders on portfolio financials, outsourcing strategy, supplier performance, and material risk.
- Extensive experience with competitive sourcing, complex commercial negotiations, MSAs, Work Orders/SOWs, Change Orders, and CRO/vendor governance.
- Experience with clinical financial and payment systems, including Veeva capabilities for site budgeting and payments.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with RTSM/IRT, clinical technology, laboratory services, and investigational product, comparator, or ancillary supply commercial models.
- Working knowledge of SAP/Ariba or equivalent enterprise procurement and financial platforms.
