Salary: $133,100–$210,600 USD base salary annually; $159,900–$252,900 USD annually may apply in Seattle, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City Metro Area.

What you will do

• Research emerging attacker techniques, including in-memory threats, injection, credential theft, ransomware, and kernel tampering, and turn findings into endpoint protections.
• Extend endpoint visibility by instrumenting event sources and improving telemetry across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Develop performant, stable C/C++ production code that runs on millions of endpoints.
• Reverse engineer malware, study evasion techniques, and harden hirify.global Defend protections.
• Investigate customer telemetry, false positives, and performance regressions while establishing mitigation strategies.
• Lead cross-release initiatives, contribute to technical direction, mentor engineers, and publish or present security research.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience analyzing attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures and building detection methods for real security threats.
• 6+ years of development experience in C, C++, and Python.
• Deep operating system internals knowledge in kernel and user mode, especially Windows, with macOS or Linux experience.
• In-depth reverse engineering and malware analysis experience.
• Ability to anticipate evasion techniques and design resilient security protections.
• Experience using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code.

Nice to have

• Vulnerability research, exploit development, and responsible disclosure experience.
• Red teaming or offensive security tooling experience.
• Kernel-mode or driver development and debugging experience.
• Maintaining an open-source security tool, conference speaking, or an established publication record.
• Machine learning applied to endpoint security or familiarity with the hirify.global Stack and hirify.global Security.
