Vice President, Biologics Research

Location: Onsite at the New Hampshire office, with flexibility for some remote work; occasional travel of approximately 5%–15%.

Salary: $290,000–$396,000 annual.

What you will do

• Define and drive the long-term scientific strategy for biologics research in alignment with corporate and portfolio objectives.
• Provide scientific leadership across therapeutic targets, protein engineering, biologics modality selection, and biotherapeutic discovery and development.
• Oversee screening cascades, molecular design, candidate selection, preclinical development, and IND-enabling studies.
• Integrate computational biology, data science, experimental research, laboratory automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Support first-in-human readiness and collaborate on clinical study design, IND submissions, and early clinical development.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary biologics research organization of more than 50 scientists and staff.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent degree and 15 years of experience in biopharma or biotech R&D with progressive leadership responsibility.
• Expertise in protein engineering and knowledge of adaptive immunology, including human CD8+, CD4+, and B-cell responses.
• Experience with biotherapeutic drug development, in vivo pharmacology, PK/PD strategy, preclinical CMC, toxicology and safety assessment, and first-in-human translation.
• Familiarity with modern protein design technologies, including computational and AI/ML-enabled approaches.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite from the New Hampshire office.
