Lead Accountant, Remote

Location: Remote, based in Livonia, Michigan, United States

Hourly pay range: $37.07–$55.60

What you will do

• Maintain accurate general ledger information, perform account analyses and reconciliations, and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare annual Form 990 and other tax returns, community benefit reporting data, sales and use tax reports, property tax reports, escheatment reports, and government surveys.
• Complete inter-company billing, cash transfers, and reconciliation of balances with the system office and other health ministries.
• Lead the timely implementation of audit recommendations within assigned areas.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff and support staff development activities.
• Partner with finance managers and directors to coordinate reporting and align financial operations with business priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• At least 5–7 years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, healthcare financial operations, regulatory reporting requirements, IRS regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Experience with computer accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, confidentiality, and business-acumen skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Healthcare industry experience.
• Treasury accounting experience.
