Associate Field Engineer (AV)

Location: Boston, MA, USA / New England area; on-site work and travel to active construction or commercial sites required

Salary: $78,300–$99,700 per year

What you will do

• Assist field engineers with audiovisual system commissioning, validation, and testing.
• Configure AV equipment according to documented procedures.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of AV and IP-based networking systems.
• Document field observations and testing results.
• Prepare tools, test equipment, and materials for field use.
• Follow safety and project protocols while collaborating with field teams to support project delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Interest in AV or technical systems demonstrated through education or hands-on experience.
• Basic understanding of signal flow and AV system components.
• Ability to follow directions, work in a team, learn quickly, and maintain attention to detail.
• Audinate Introduction to IP Networking for AV Systems certification, or ability to obtain it.
• Extron AV Associate certification, or ability to obtain it.
• Willingness to travel and work on active construction or commercial sites.

Nice to have

• AVIXA Recognized Technologist Certificate.
• Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.
• DSP certifications from Biamp, QSC, or BSS.
• Control certifications from QSC, Extron, or Crestron.
• Experience with AV systems, IT hardware, low-voltage installations, cable termination, racking, or basic system wiring.
