Legal Officer (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the European Region; hybrid workplace with optional offices and relocation support

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day legal and regulatory advice on financial services, payments, and crypto-assets.
• Monitor EU financial services regulation and assess its impact on products, operations, and legal entities.
• Support licensing, registration, and authorisation projects, including applications, policies, corporate documents, and regulator responses.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, especially customer contracts.
• Provide legal support for new products, partnerships, and market-entry initiatives while identifying regulatory risks early.
• Prepare legal research, opinions, risk assessments, templates, policies, and regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in financial services, fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated financial sector.
• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the EU financial services regulatory framework, including payments and financial institutions.
• Working knowledge of PSD/PSD2, PSD3/PSR, MiCA, DORA, AML/CFT, and GDPR.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, with strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken, with the ability to manage multiple matters and stakeholders independently.
