Senior Robotics Engineer - Robot Perception (AI)

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA — HQ

Base salary: $149,000–$204,600 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design and implement advanced robot perception architectures using computer vision and deep learning.
• Develop robust, high-quality software with code reviews, testing, documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Integrate perception data with robot planning, manipulation, and control pipelines.
• Build and curate large-scale datasets from millions of daily cases, including augmentation, automated labeling, and quality assurance.
• Improve simulation environments using synthetic data generation, Gaussian Splatting, NeRFs, and GenAI to reduce the simulation-to-real gap.
• Research new robotics perception methods, solve complex engineering challenges, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of robotics engineering and robotic perception software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++, C#, and/or Python.
• Experience with semantic or instance segmentation, object detection, tracking, pose estimation, SLAM, 3D mapping, sensor calibration, and sensor fusion.
• Experience with PyTorch or JAX, advanced perception methods, large-scale datasets, data pipelines, and end-to-end system integration.
• Up to 10% travel may be required; a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations are required.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Publications in leading computer vision or machine learning conferences and journals.
• Experience with NeRFs, Gaussian Splatting, LLMs, and diffusion processes.
