Product Designer, Marketplace

Location: Hybrid for candidates within commuting distance of Vercel offices in San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, with in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; fully remote for candidates located beyond that distance.

Salary: $172,000–$258,000 annual base pay in San Francisco, adjusted based on employee location outside San Francisco. Total compensation may also include equity, benefits, and bonus or variable pay.

What you will do

• Own builder and partner experiences across discovery, installation, billing, management, and removal for Vercel Marketplace and Vercel Connect.
• Define how developers and agents discover, provision, configure, and use databases, services, and integrations across the dashboard, CLI, APIs, v0, and partner tools.
• Turn OAuth, permissions, environments, credentials, billing, and provider constraints into clear and trustworthy product experiences.
• Build and test working prototypes independently, using coding agents to explore product behavior and technical constraints.
• Use customer and partner research, support signals, product data, experiments, and success measures to identify opportunities and validate improvements.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering through implementation and launch while creating reusable design patterns for the Marketplace and Connect products.

Requirements

• Portfolio clearly showing personal contribution, design decisions, shipped outcomes, and post-launch impact.
• Experience independently owning ambiguous, technically complex product work from problem framing through launch and iteration.
• Strong systems thinking combined with a high standard for interaction and visual design.
• Ability to use qualitative and quantitative evidence, define success measures, and adjust direction based on findings.
• Ability to make complex products clear and trustworthy, including edge cases, recovery flows, language, and accessibility.
• Ability to work directly with Product and Engineering, read APIs or code when useful, and independently use coding agents for prototyping and system exploration.

Nice to have

• Experience designing marketplaces, integrations platforms, partner ecosystems, or other multi-sided products.
• Understanding of OAuth, permissions, secrets, billing, developer tooling, or infrastructure products.
• Experience shipping AI or agent workflows involving human approval and autonomous action.
• Engineering background or experience contributing production web code.
