Company
Fireworks AI provides infrastructure for building, training, and serving specialized AI models, including open models across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads.
What you will do
- Build and ship runnable cookbooks, quickstarts, reference applications, and end-to-end tutorials that take developers from their first inference call to production-shaped applications.
- Own rapid launch responses for major models and techniques through working demos, benchmarks, usage guides, model access, evaluation harnesses, and repeatable publishing processes.
- Create and maintain developer content across documentation, blogs, examples, cookbooks, Discord, newsletters, GitHub, X, Reddit, YouTube, Hacker News, and relevant open-source projects.
- Speak at conferences, lead workshops, mentor hackathons, run developer events, and create reusable presentation and workshop materials.
- Bring evidence-based developer feedback, friction, and feature gaps to product and engineering, then communicate shipped improvements publicly.
- Measure content and event impact through adoption, activation, time to first successful build, signups, and developer conversion to production use.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined engineering and developer-facing experience, including genuine experience in both areas. Relevant developer-facing experience may include developer relations, developer education, technical writing, or solutions engineering.
- Strong Python skills and comfort with TypeScript or JavaScript; experience building and deploying applications and reviewing code and diffs.
- Production experience with LLM APIs, at least one agent framework, and personally fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying a model.
- Understanding of inference latency, throughput, and cost drivers.
- A public technical track record through writing, talks, videos, open-source work, or an earned developer following.
- Demonstrated speaking experience at conferences, meetups, or workshops, including the ability to present recently shipped technical work.
- Ability to rapidly turn new research or papers into working implementations and honest technical assessments, with a system for staying current.
- Ability to select topics, scope projects, and own work end to end without relying on a predefined content calendar.
Nice to have
- Open-source contributions or maintainership in the AI/ML ecosystem, including inference engines, model libraries, agent frameworks, or evaluation tooling.
- Depth in inference optimization, serving architecture, post-training, or evaluation methodology.
- Experience building a durable content operation, launch process, events playbook, or community program.
- Comfort creating video.
- Existing relationships with AI research or open-model communities.
- Daily use of frontier coding agents and informed opinions about their strengths and limitations.
- Experience joining an early DevRel team and helping establish its operating model.
Culture & Benefits
- Hybrid work based in San Mateo or London with regular travel for major developer events and launches.
- Work on AI infrastructure, low-latency inference, scalable model serving, and emerging model technologies.
- High ownership and direct impact on product, developer adoption, and technical communication standards.
- Collaboration with engineers and AI researchers in a fast-growing environment.
- Equity included in the compensation package.
