Fullstack Engineer (AI Safety)

Location: London, UK

Salary: £161K–£280K base pay, plus equity and performance-related bonus(es) for eligible employees.

What you will do

• Prototype, build, and maintain intelligence systems that detect and triage possible high-severity harm and support efficient human review.
• Design and deliver systems with operators and investigators to improve the speed, accuracy, and safety of their work.
• Develop across the stack, including user interfaces, services, data pipelines, infrastructure, and related tooling.
• Collaborate with Product Policy, Platform Integrity, Safety Systems, and Research.
• Contribute to the technical strategy for child-safety tools and systems.
• Report on impact using data-driven analysis.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Strong software engineering foundations and the ability to own systems end-to-end, from infrastructure and data ingestion to frontend tooling.
• Experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines or search and retrieval systems.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with familiarity with Spark, Kafka, Flink, data warehouses, and SQL.
• Ability to integrate new AI models and APIs into practical systems.
• Product-minded approach focused on user workflows and rapid iteration based on feedback.
• Ability to deliver pragmatic solutions in low-support environments, navigate ambiguity, and work through open-ended problem spaces with evolving goals.
• Prior experience engineering for high-severity harms and an understanding of operations and investigative team workflows.
• Comfort working with sensitive and egregious content related to child safety.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of child-safety-specific challenges, including secure handling of quarantined content and reporting to NCMEC.
