Data Scientist (Automotive)

Location: Remote – Canada

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Analyze automotive industry data to identify the features that drive vehicle prices and predict future values.
• Develop, document, maintain, and optimize production processes, algorithms, ETLs, and data pipelines.
• Deploy predictive solutions to AWS and build tools for production monitoring.
• Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to improve processes, data quality, and valuation capabilities.
• Create Tableau reports, perform quality assurance on forecasts and vehicle values, and conduct ad hoc analysis.
• Explain predictive products and methodologies to internal stakeholders, clients, and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience working with large datasets.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with statistical programming; Python and Pandas are required, while Spark is preferred.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with SQL and database technologies such as Redshift, Hive, or MySQL.
• Experience with AWS tools including S3, SageMaker, Glue, and Lambda.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, logic, and data and code quality.
• A master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field, plus the ability to communicate technical processes to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive market data.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, cloud-based systems, Tableau, or generative AI workflows.
• Examples of production data pipelines, product deployments, or data visualizations.
• Experience deploying machine learning models to production through an API.
