Senior Technical Staff Engineer - Quality (Supplier)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States; stationed onsite at the Beverly factory

Annual base salary: $91,000–$247,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

• Lead a six-person Systems Supplier Quality Engineering team located across the US and EU.
• Support the Beverly factory, internal factories, and business units when quality issues originate from supplier raw materials or components.
• Work with suppliers to perform failure analysis, containment, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Manage supplier quality scores, improvement programs, and closure of supplier audit corrective actions.
• Review incoming-inspection and production-line failures with internal quality and operations teams to determine supplier-related causes.
• Coordinate with Factory Quality, Operations, Supply Management, purchasing, engineering, and supplier personnel across multiple sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, with 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality assurance, subcontractor management, and people management.
• Experience with supplier audits, quality score reviews, failure analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and supplier development.
• Ability to solve problems using established problem-solving methodologies and coordinate follow-up on issues and projects.
• Ability to travel when required; expected travel is 0%–25%.
• Due to US export-control requirements, candidates must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status.

Nice to have

• Experience with laser welding, plating, wire crimping, soldering, SPC, special-process audits, GD&T, RCCA, and systemic corrective actions.
• Knowledge of J-STD-001, J-STD-002, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, AS9102, JEDEC, IPC, and military standards for SMD packages.
• Understanding of QC tools, automotive core tools, ISO/IATF/AS quality systems, and VDA 6.3 audit checklists.
