Principal Technical Architect (Internal Products)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; hybrid model with onsite work 50% of the time

What you will do

• Provide architectural leadership across enterprise platforms, internally developed applications, and strategic programmes within Internal Products.
• Define architectural principles, technology standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, target architectures, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead architecture for transformation initiatives, including the Commercial Technology Programme, translating business objectives into scalable technology solutions.
• Establish consistent integration patterns across enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud-native services, and internal applications, including APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Improve interoperability, reuse, resilience, security, operability, maintainability, and cost efficiency while reducing duplication and technical debt.
• Manage and coach two senior technical leaders, mentor senior engineers, and represent Internal Products in architecture and technology forums.

Requirements

• Senior experience in technical, solution, or enterprise architecture within a complex technology organisation.
• Experience defining architectural direction across multiple applications, platforms, and business domains.
• Strong knowledge of modern application architecture, enterprise SaaS, cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns.
• Experience establishing architecture principles, standards, governance, roadmaps, and risk-management practices while preserving team autonomy.
• Experience leading transformation programmes, managing architectural risk and technical debt, and working with public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience managing, coaching, or developing senior technical professionals, with excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical groups.

Nice to have

• Experience with Salesforce, Oracle Fusion, Workday, or similar enterprise SaaS ecosystems.
• Experience modernising complex or legacy enterprise technology estates.
• Experience evaluating technology vendors and contributing to technology selection or procurement processes.
