Data Cloud Architect (AWS/Azure)

What you will do

• Design and manage the Group’s data architecture landscape and modern multi-cloud data platform.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, data engineers, analysts, and other architecture functions to define solution requirements and future-state architecture.
• Produce high-level and low-level architecture documentation based on business requirements and the evolving data landscape.
• Maintain architecture patterns, principles, standards, procedures, and knowledge-base artefacts.
• Ensure alignment with data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
• Identify data landscape risks, issues, and assumptions, and develop mitigation plans while assessing the impact of technology trends.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role or in hands-on engineering or DevOps roles at enterprise scale.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud architecture, including networking, storage, IaaS, PaaS, load balancing, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of database architecture, including RDBMS platforms, high availability, replication, performance tuning, encryption, and access controls.
• Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, data lakes, cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, message buses, workflow services, and interactive query services.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Python, Scala, Java, Microsoft BI technologies, and reporting or visualisation tools.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, research, problem-solving, workload management, independent working, teamwork, and Agile software development lifecycle skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL and graph databases, including AWS Neptune, Azure Cosmos DB, or Neo4j.
• Knowledge of API management.
