Development Tools Software Engineer (f/m/d) (Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid work with time split between the hirify.global site and off-site work

hirify.global develops silicon and software solutions, with its Debug and Trace Tools Engineering team building software debug tools for product design, manufacturing, validation, and integration.

What you will do

• Design and implement robust software tools, including debuggers, for engineering workflows and silicon validation.
• Develop efficient, secure, and scalable systems using modern programming languages and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and integrate tools into existing workflows.
• Optimize tools for performance and reliability across diverse use cases.
• Debug and resolve software issues to maintain production-quality standards.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and support Agile practices within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with 2+ years of professional experience or a PhD with no prior professional experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and hands-on experience with version control systems.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, hardware architectures, and open-source software.
• Experience configuring Linux and Windows systems.
• Understanding of AI and HPC software stacks, with solid analytical skills and experience working in Agile teams.
• Advanced English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience developing compilers or debuggers such as GDB.
• Knowledge of operating system internals, particularly Linux.
• Understanding of testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
