Technical Lead, Applications (AI)

Location: Remote from Indonesia; address in Jakarta, Jakarta. Interviews may be conducted virtually and/or onsite.

What you will do

• Own application engineering strategy and execution across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
• Design reliable AI-powered workflows covering state management, orchestration, tool use, retries, fallbacks, and failure handling.
• Build APIs and abstractions connecting AI systems with real-world product experiences.
• Lead a small team of senior engineers through architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on mentorship.
• Balance latency, reliability, cost, security, and user experience in high-impact technical decisions.
• Establish production foundations including observability, monitoring, testing, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
• Strong hands-on experience building and shipping production backend systems.
• Experience building AI-powered products or systems integrating modern ML/LLM capabilities.
• Technical judgment and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
• Ability to work across backend and client platforms, with deep expertise in at least one.
• High standards for code quality, reliability, ownership, and engineering fundamentals.
