Senior Space Embedded Linux Engineer, C++ (Aerospace)

Salary: $169,000–$216,000 annually, plus potential stock options.

What you will do

• Develop reliable flight software that controls spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules throughout entire missions.
• Write structured bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Own software design, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
• Scope projects, capture requirements, and perform initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with the Flight Software team to solve problems and ensure system quality and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
• 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Strong C++ development experience and understanding of core language concepts.
• Must work on-site in El Segundo, California.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• End-to-end experience building and launching a spacecraft.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems or aerospace safety-critical software.
• Experience with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand systems, F’, or cFS.
• Experience with Python or Rust, analog and digital electronics, and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, CAN, or EtherCAT.
• Experience in SBIR, STTR, automotive, robotics, or medical device industries.
